Vicki Scott Burns, our award-winning author, started dreaming about being a children’s author when she was 8 years old! Her dream finally came true in 2007, when her first book, Zamboni’s Bath (Kaeden Publishing), was published. Her second book, Zamboni’s Goal (Kaeden Publishing), was published several years later. 

​

A former teacher with a passion for sparking curiosity in young readers, Vicki created her Charli Explores STEM® series to show children that STEM is not just something you study; it is something you can use to make a difference.

​

When she’s not writing, Vicki enjoys riding her horse, playing with her dogs, and reading in her pollinator garden. 

 

Fun fact: Charli’s dog, Paris, is based on Vicki’s real dog named Paris. Both dogs are curious, silly, and adorable!

 

Vicki’s granddaughters are the inspiration behind her Charli Explores STEM® series. She wants them, as well her readers, to know that they can be and do whatever they choose. As Charli says, “Anything is possible!”
