Family Literacy Night

Bring Charli to your next Family Literacy Night! Families read, design, and celebrate together in a hands-on event built around Charli's Pawsome Park, where real-life math gets a real job to do.

How the evening works (about an hour): a welcome and introduction (10 minutes), a read-aloud of Charli's Pawsome Park (20 minutes), the Design-a-Dog-Park activity, where families sketch a park on graph paper, figure out fencing and turf, stay on a $4,000 budget, and share their designs (30 minutes), and Q&A with the author (10 minutes). If families get their books ahead of time, we skip the read-aloud and spend more time designing and sharing.

Family Literacy Night with Books: $500 + at least 50 signed books at $6.50 each, so every family goes home with a book.

Literacy Night Only: $750. No book purchase required.

Same-Day Combo: a daytime Book Bundle Visit ($250 + 75 books at $6.50) plus a Family Literacy Night that evening for an additional $375.

The host prints the activity handouts, or I can bring them for $1 per family. In-person events more than 50 miles from Newport, RI add mileage at the IRS rate. Parent order forms for extra signed copies at $10 each are available.
