​What you'll receive from me:

​

1) A typical presentation is designed for grades 2 and 3, and is 45-50 minutes long. Presentations for grades K-1 and 4-5 (modifications of the visit described below) are available upon request. Price is per presentation. This engaging, interactive presentation includes:​​

• A brief introduction about me, about how I became a published author, and about my writing process

• A read aloud of one book (school choice) from my Charli Explores STEM® series

• Cover reveal and "before reading" questions/predictions

• "During" questions addressing new vocabulary or concepts as needed

• "After" questions following each chapter (comprehension questions, brainstorming problems Charli may face, making predictions, etc.)

• Q&A session

2) A master pre-order form for students will be provided. Online pre-orders for students are offered at a 20% discount, and they will be signed and delivered on the day of the visit.

3) A $500 minimum in-person program commitment applies ($250 minimum commitment for virtual visits.) To help make visits accessible, we offer two payment options:

• A straight visit fee of $500 ($250 virtual) without a book minimum OR

• A blended pricing option with a combination of a $350 ($150 virtual) in-person visit fee and a minimum of $150 ($100 virtual) in pre-ordered books. Books pre-ordered by the school will receive a wholesale discount. Students will be offered a discounted price for pre-orders.

• The $500 minimum fee includes travel within a 2-hour radius from Newport, RI. For travel between a 2-hour and 4-hour radius, an additional $150 fee is required. For travel exceeding a 4-hour radius, additional fees will be discussed.

• 30% discount on the visit fees if more than one presentation is booked for your school or if more than one school in your area books for the same week (discount applies to all schools that book). If multiple schools in your area book for the same week, any travel expenses will be shared by all of the schools. Talk to the other schools in your district--I'd be happy to spend several days doing author visits!

4) A set of professionally developed lesson plans/activities for the chosen book is included in the fee.

6) I request:

• Power

• A 6' long table to display books and to sit and sign books

• A chair

• A smart screen to display my Power Point slideshow

• A microphone if necessary depending on the size of the space and audience

• An aisle down the center of the audience so that I can interact with the students​​​​​​​
